This time last year my nan was in hospital....tomorrow and last year we went to visit her in hospital on her birthday. I drove because my mum was on cruches. She had a small piece of cake. The day after its my birthday, my dad and uncle went down to see her and found out that she had cancer. In a month it'll be the one year anniversary of her funeral.

I went to town and decided to get my fringe cut on the way home since I was having difficulty seeing. My normal place charges £3 and £30 for a hair cut. Since I needed the haircut today and couldn't guarentee that my place would be able to do it straight away I decided to pop into the hairdressers I past on my way home.

The first one, empty of both customers and employees until the guy ran down the stairs when the bell chimed when I opened the door. He said £5 for a fringe cut but if I had my hair cut there then fringe cut between hair cuts would be free. So I asked how much for hair cuts and he said £25 but they had an offer on for new customers which was £15 for the first hair cut. I asked if he could offer a hair or fringe cut right then but he said no. which was odd. Anyways, I thought I'd probably go back there and then head off to my normal place.

On the way remember about this other hairdressers which I always thought looked a bit grotty but wandered over because people whose hair is in their eyes can't be chosers. I asked how much for a fringe cut and get this! They Said it was FREE! NO CHARGE! Totally Free. And they could fit me in straight away. Hair cuts there are between £24 and £31 so might wander down there more often.

The Upper Room (church in a pub, noon on sundays) went out for a picnic yest (so not actually in the pub)...was lovely weather, the park was full of happy people and excitable dogs. There were prob about 20 of us...lots of food...a couple of games of kick rounders and football and swingball and running around generally. lil bit of sunbathing and everyone happy.

Am writing my superhero story and really getting into it now. Am on the second section....and going strong.

The last two days I've spent a lot of time doing office work in actual offices which totally sucks!

Have applied to do a masters in childhood and youth with the open uni and the bossman says that if there is interest then I can run some adult training sessions where I can charge extra and get some money for.

Also have been doing some more planning of sessions some based on Erte (www.erte.com) so that's been slightly more fun than planning letters and such.

Need to buy a whole bunch of stamps but the weather is miserable and i'm not going out in it.

My periods are incredibly regular and it's beginning to worry me. They begin on the first day of every month.

This may seem like a good way for me to remember when they are going to begin to interfere with my choice of underwear but the fact is that the start of every month isn't actually regular.

My period began on the first of March last year and the first of March this year despite the fact that last year was a leap year and there was an extra day. That means that my period actually started a day later than they did last year.

Also, since Feb is such a short month anyway surely a normal person would start their period a few days later to compensate. My worry is that my body isn't going through the motions of having a cycle like I was taught in biology. I think my body thinks its the sea and is just being governed by the moon.

Another fun day at the youth centre...with the 'i heard that you said that you were going to hit me and i don't think that's right because i said i was sorry' 'i didn't say i was going to hit you' 'well that's what i heard' arguments....the government said we shouldn't hit children but some of them need a good whack just so that they can think clearly! They don't even stop talking long enough to listen to you try and sort it out...

and the crickets been abandoned due to rain and bad drainage and sand on the pitch...joyful.

I suppose it shouldn't come as a shock that we didn't stick to the subject but instead spoke about the nature of heaven and faith and whether heaven and the kingdom of God are the same thing and what jesus meant by heaven and what is meant by true.

Don't like the new skins!

My proof copy of the novel I wrote for nanowrimo came this morning. It is totally awesome, found a couple of typos but I think that they're easier to spot in print so will edit and send off for another one when I've finished rereading it.

Did some planning for sessions this week and arranged another meeting with the wildlife play workers...am probably going to go down to one of their play sessions over half term which will kill two birds with one stone and everyone will be happy with our multi agency working.

Tomorrow am going up to town to get some clay modelling equipment that is new and not boring for the kids at thursdays session.

Went to go and see a staffordshire youth service mobile unit so that we know what to expect of our bus...was a 2 hour journey for a 20 min look...We've learnt that there is no way that it will be able to get it into the carpark of the youth centre where we were planning to store it. There also isn't as much storage space as i thought there would be.

Went to a youth club to cover tonight...was quite cool, just left the kids to get on with it and then joined them on the wii rock band...they were rubbish at the singing part of orange crush so i sang for them and I rocked because i love that song...so yay to us!

snow came as i left the centre and am now eating a fruit winder...i thought they'd died wheni was younger but they seem to be back and odder...so yay!

Wandered around trying to find somewhere to park for a bit but it turned out ok because the lady with the keys turned up after me. The manager was ill which meant it was just me and the lead worker, she was quite nervous about it because that meant leaving me alone to run a session while she was running the babysitting course.

The game we were meant to play was pretty rubbish but I think the manager had a purpose for it which I didn't know and wouldn't have been able to deliever anyway so we did some roleplays for a while and things went well. I think some of them think I'm better than the lady they've had for a long time because it means they can be more themselves without worrying about her talking to their parents but one of the other girls who I feel wants to be the leader doesn't seem to like me because I won't let her be in control.

Was so cold when I got in the car the inside of the windows were frozen and took ages to defrost everything.

More snow fell over night making all the schools close...I was pretty sure I was still going to have to go to my meeting since I could walk there and I thought the people I was meeting with could walk there too but they txted and said they couldn't get in so I decided to make some painted snow castles with the kids outside...as you can see from the pic.

Then went to the youth forum meeting where everyone thought i was under 19 which made up for not being id'd in lidl today!

Snow has destroyed the world....apparently....although the media seems to believe that London is the same as the world...the trains and buses are running fine where I live and the planes I believe.

I have entered the amazon competition with the nano story although not much of a chance to win.
